Food and Nutritional Education in Pedagogy Courses in the State of Ceará: from Academic Education to Teaching Challenges by Training Teachers

Resumo: Due to the inadequate eating habits of Brazilians and the need for studies on the training of pedagogues for teaching healthy eating subjects, this work aimed to analyze the academic training, successful experiences and challenges of teacher educators of five Pedagogy courses. from the state of Ceará on carrying out educational practices with the theme Food and Nutrition Education (EAN). For this, an electronic questionnaire and/or an interview was carried out with seven pedagogues who teach subjects that are related to the EAN, such as Science Teaching and Health Education. It was found that most teachers of the Pedagogy courses investigated did not have training on the topic of healthy eating, their experiences are limited to welfare, nutritional aspects and, in a few cases, the perspective of the subjects' life (cultural, social, environmental, among others). As for the difficulties, the lack of academic preparation was detected as the majority, reflecting bachelor's degrees or in areas of knowledge other than science teaching. Therefore, it is necessary to invest in the preparation of these teachers, who are essential for the initial training of future pedagogues.  Keywords: Healthy eating. Educating teachers. Pedagogy.

Pedagogy.Em virtude dos hábitos alimentares inadequados dos brasileiros e da necessidade de estudos sobre a formação de professores pedagogos para o ensino sobre assuntos de alimentação saudável, este trabalho objetivou analisar a formação acadêmica, as experiências exitosas e os desafios dos professores formadores de cinco cursos de Pedagogia do estado do Ceará sobre a realização de práticas educativas com o tema Educação Alimentar e Nutricional (EAN). Para isso, realizou-se a aplicação de um questionário eletrônico e/ou uma entrevista a sete docentes pedagogos que ministram disciplinas as quais tangenciam a EAN, como o Ensino de Ciências e a Educação em Saúde. Verificou-se que a maioria dos docentes dos cursos de Pedagogia investigados não teve formação com o tema alimentação saudável, as suas experiências se limitam aos aspectos assistencialistas, nutricionais e, em poucos casos, a perspectiva de vida dos sujeitos (cultural, social, ambiental, dentre outros). Quanto as dificuldades, detectou-se a carência de preparação acadêmica como majoritária, sendo reflexo de formações bacharelescas ou em áreas do conhecimento distintas do ensino de Ciências. Portanto, torna-se necessário investir na preparação desses docentes, os quais são essenciais para a formação inicial de futuros professores pedagogos. Palavras-chave: Alimentação saudável.
