The preservation of urban and architectural heritage in contemporaneity: restoration projects in Italy

Resumo: Talking about the expansion of the meaning of cultural heritage in recent decades and the consequent increase in the need for interventions for the conservation and restoration of these assets, a greater understanding of the disciplinary fields involved in these practices is important. Considering Italy, the country of restoration, as a highlight in discussions related to the concepts of heritage and monuments, as well as what leads to theoretical-methodological project choices, this research brings some analyzes of recent restoration cases there. Thereby, it contributes to the deepening of conservation and restoration studies, by advancing the debate on these themes.

Así, contribuye a la profundización de los estudios de conservación y restauración y avanza em el debate sobre estos temas.Frente à ampliação do que se entende por patrimônio cultural, nas últimas décadas, e ao consequente aumento da necessidade de intervenções de conservação e restauração desses bens, o maior entendimento dos campos disciplinares envolvidos nessas práticas é importante. Considerando a Itália, país do restauro, como destaque nas discussões relacionadas aos conceitos de patrimônio e monumentos, assim como as questões que levam às escolhas teórico-metodológicas de projeto, esta pesquisa traz algumas análises de casos de restauração recentes nesse país.
