Resumo: The purpose of this article is to present an overview of the studies in national scientific periodicals present in the Doaj on the history of education in the Brazilian Higher Education Institutions and their relation with the teaching formation. The methodology used is bibliometric. Among the results reveals the dialogues of the history of education with the other areas of knowledge that study the school. The study concludes that among the contributions of the history of education to the formation of teachers is the appropriation of historical foundations to reflect on the organization of the school in the present.

La metodología utilizada es bibliométrica. Entre los resultados revela los diálogos de la historia de la educación con las otras áreas de conocimiento que estudian la escuela.
