Resumo: The Brazilian Government has granted funding to upper-level students of private entities with FIES. As some private higher education institutions have consolidated more contracts than others, an environment conducive to the study of evasion has emerged. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of FIES on the financial motivation of avoidance of higher education in private HEIs. The results indicated a reduction in the level of evasion of the group of institutions that signed more FIES contracts.

En virtud de que algunas instituciones de enseñanza superior privadas han consolidado más contratos que otras, surgió un ambiente propicio para el estudio de la evasión. La finalidad de esta investigación fue investigar el efecto del FIES en la motivación financiera de la evasión de cursos superiores en las IES privadas. Los resultados indicaron reducción en el nivel de evasión del grupo de instituciones que firmaron más contratos del FIES.O Governo Brasileiro, por intermédio do Fundo de Financiamento Estudantil (FIES), tem concedido financiamento para alunos de curso superior de entidades privadas. Em virtude de algumas instituições de ensino superior privadas terem consolidado mais contratos que outras, surgiu um ambiente propício ao estudo da evasão. Desta forma, instituições que auferiram mais bolsas tiveram a oportunidade de ter sua evasão reduzida no que tange à motivação financeira, o que gerou, deste modo, um experimento de campo natural. Como grupo de controle, instituições que firmaram poucos contratos, ficaram sujeitas à evasão de alunos por motivos financeiros. A finalidade desta pesquisa foi investigar o efeito do FIES na motivação financeira da evasão de cursos superiores nas Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) privadas. Para alcançar tal objetivo foram analisados os dados disponíveis do INEP (2016), para a obtenção da evasão, e do FNDE (2016), para levantamento de dados do FIES. O método aplicado foi a comparação de dois grupos, experimental e de controle, devido às bases de dados conterem dados transversais e longitudinais.
