A PRESERVAÇÃO DA MEMÓRIA FAMILIAR SOBRE A ATUAÇÃO DO GENERAL JOCA TAVARES DURANTE A REVOLUÇÃO FEDERALISTA DE 1893-1895

RESUMOO presente trabalho tem por finalidade analisar e preservar por meio da entrevista de História oral com a senhora Yara Maria Botelho Vieira, tataraneta do General João Nunes da Silva Tavares (Joca Tavares, 1818 - 1906), Comandante em Chefe do Exército Libertador durante a Revolução Federalista de 1893, as memórias familiares guardadas ao longo do tempo sobre a participação de Joca Tavares durante este conflito. Para tal, nos utilizando-nos metodologicamente da História oral e do conceito de memória trabalhado por Joel Candau (2012), procuraremos também tratar sobre as transformações causadas pelas preocupações contemporâneas com a memória, sua organização e preservação, atentando principalmente para as ligações desta com a construção da identidade dos indivíduos e de grupos sociais do qual fazem parte. Nesse sentido procuramos apresentar neste trabalho diferentes momentos da vida do individuo que ajudam a compreender sua trajetória, antes ignorada pelas biografias tradicionais. A partir da perspectiva de descendentes de federalista que participaram do conflito, a narrativa apresenta elementos que ajudam a compreender as preservação da memória e sua transmissão no âmbito familiar, passados mais de 120 anos do término da Revolução, proporcionando entender o entorno do personagem e seu contexto, trazendo a luz a indivíduos antes deixados nas entrelinhas dos eventos. Dessa forma, a entrevista possibilitou também compreender participação das mulheres no conflito, a violência que este assumiu em meio a um conturbado período da história do Rio Grande do Sul. Este trabalho foi financiado com auxílio de Bolsa CAPES/DS.ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to address the oral history interview with Mrs. Yara Maria Botelho Vieira, great-grandson of General João Nunes da Silva Tavares (Joca Tavares, 1816 - 1906), commander in chief of the Liberation Army during the Federalist Revolution of 1893 , The family memories kept over time about the participation of Joca Tavares during this conflict. To that end, we will use methodologically from oral history and the concept of memory worked by Joel Candau (2012), also trying to deal with the transformations caused by contemporary preoccupations with memory, paying particular attention to the connections of this and the construction of the identity of individuals and Of social groups of which they are part. In this sense, we try to present in this work different moments in the life of the individual that help to understand its trajectory, previously ignored by the traditional biographies. From the perspective of descendants of federalists who participated in the conflict, the narrative presents elements that help to understand the preservation of memory and its transmission within the family, after more than 120 years of the end of the Revolution, providing an understanding of the surroundings of the character and his Context, bringing light to individuals once left behind between the lines of events. In this way, the interview also made it possible to understand women's participation in the conflict, the violence it assumed in the midst of a troubled period in the history of Rio Grande do Sul.This study was funded with scholarship from CAPES/DS.
