Resumo: Pre-clinical breast lesions have been more diagnosed in the last three decades due to the improvement of image diagnosis, and, more recently, with the introduction of core-biopsy. The authors present the study of 197 cases of breast core-biopsies guided by ultrasound and mammography, with emphasis on the diagnostic correlation between the images and histopathology. Carcinomas have been diagnosed in 40 cases. Significant agreement (p <0,001) has been observed between the BIRADS™ classification and the histological diagnoses.

Apresentamos um estudo de 197 casos submetidos à biópsia por agulha, guiadas por ultra-sonografia e por mamografia, com ênfase na correlação entre os achados morfológicos dos exames de diagnóstico por imagem e a histopatologia. Em 40 casos o diagnóstico foi de carcinoma.
