GENETIC IMPROVEMENT AS A STRATEGY TO ADVANCE PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTIVITY DURING BOVINE CONFINEMENT

Resumo: | This is a descriptive and exploratory qualitative study of the integrative literature review type, whose objective was to demonstrate the main factors involved in the beef cattle breeding process in Brazil. The search for the material took place considering the management of the techniques, the environment that involves the practice, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, which were indexed in the databases: Scielo, Medline, Lilacs, Redalyc and Google Scholar whose production modalities were: original articles in case study, experience report, theoretical study, research report. Initially, 1352 articles were raised, of which, after reading the titles, 402 articles were excluded, resulting in 950 articles, of which the abstracts were read, 721 articles were excluded, resulting in 229 articles that, after reading in full, 214 articles were excluded, thus resulting in a sample of 15 articles. It was found that bovine genetic improvement programs are responsible for evaluating and determining the characteristics of animals to improve the economic gains of beef cattle. Through these programs, strategies are implemented in order to obtain the best possible genetic characteristics within a given condition. |

La búsqueda del material se realizó considerando el manejo de las técnicas, el ambiente que envuelve la práctica, en portugués, inglés y español, que fueron indexadas en las bases de datos: Scielo, Medline, Lilacs, Redalyc y Google Scholar cuyas modalidades de producción fueron: artículos originales en estudio de caso, relato de experiencia, estudio teórico, relato de investigación. Inicialmente se levantaron 1352 artículos, de los cuales luego de la lectura de los títulos se excluyeron 402 artículos resultando 950 artículos, de los cuales se leyeron los resúmenes se excluyeron 721 artículos resultando 229 artículos que luego de la lectura completa quedaron 214 artículos fueron excluidos, resultando así en una muestra de 15 artículos. Se encontró que los programas de mejoramiento genético bovino son los encargados de evaluar y determinar las características de los animales para mejorar las ganancias económicas del ganado vacuno de carne. A través de estos programas se implementan estrategias para obtener las mejores características genéticas posibles dentro de una determinada condición.Trata-se de estudo natureza qualitativa descritiva e exploratória do tipo revisão integrativa de literatura, cujo objetivo foi demonstrar os principais fatores envolvidos no processo de melhoramento de bovinos de corte no Brasil. A busca pelo material sucedeu considerando o manejo das técnicas, o ambiente que envolve a prática, nos idiomas português, inglês e espanhol, que estivessem indexados nas bases de dados: Scielo, Medline, Lilacs, Redalyc e Google Acadêmico cujas modalidades de produção fossem: artigos originais em estudo de caso, relato de experiência, estudo teórico, relato de pesquisa. Inicialmente foram levantados 1352 artigos, dos quais após leitura dos títulos foram exclusos 402 artigos, resultando em 950 artigos, dos quais foram realizados a leitura dos resumos sendo exclusos 721 artigos, resultando em 229 artigos que após leitura na integra, foram exclusos 214 artigos, resultando assim a amostra de 15 artigos. Constatou-se que os programas de melhoramento genético bovino são responsáveis por avaliar e determinar as características dos animais para melhoria dos ganhos econômicos do gado de corte.
