Sustainability practices in state schools in Guarapuava (PR)

Resumo: | Due to the important role educational institutions play in the citizenship education of individuals and their communities, these institutions are tasked with disseminating good practices of socio-environmental responsibility and sustainable development strategies. This article presents the results of a case study aimed at identifying sustainability practices in the management of state schools in Guarapuava (PR). The parameters were based on the A3P – Environmental Agenda in Public Administration – Social and Environmental Sustainability Model Worksheet. Seventeen state public schools, located in the investigated municipality, formed the sampling of this quantitative-qualitative research. Data were obtained through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with the directors of the institutions. The results indicate that the schools implement good sustainability practices, aligned with the parameters of the A3P Worksheet, albeit occasional and not continuous practices. One of the difficulties identified with these practices is the delay in the training of directors so that they can lead their institutions in agreement with the complex environmental, social, and economic transformations of contemporary times. |

Debido al importante papel que juegan en la formación de la ciudadanía de los individuos y de sus comunidades, las instituciones educativas tienen la tarea de difundir buenas prácticas de responsabilidad socioambiental y estrategias de desarrollo sostenible. Este artículo presenta los resultados de un estudio de caso que tuvo como objetivo identificar las prácticas de sostenibilidad en la gestión de escuelas públicas en Guarapuava, Paraná, Brasil. Los parámetros se basaron en la Hoja de Trabajo-Modelo de Sostenibilidad Socioambiental –Agenda Ambiental en la Administración Pública (A3P). La muestra para la investigación, de carácter cuantitativo-cualitativo, estuvo constituida por 17 escuelas públicas estatales, ubicadas en el municipio investigado. Los datos fueron obtenidos por medio de cuestionarios y entrevistas semiestructuradas con los directores de las instituciones. Los resultados indican que las escuelas implementan buenas prácticas de sostenibilidad, alineadas con los parámetros de la Hoja de trabajo A3P, aunque sean puntuales y no continuas. Una de las dificultades identificadas para estas prácticas está en el retraso en la formación de directores para que puedan liderar sus instituciones en equilibrio. Devido ao importante papel que desempenham na formação de cidadania dos indivíduos e de suas comunidades, a atuação das instituições educacionais tem a incumbência de disseminar boas práticas de responsabilidade socioambiental e estratégias de desenvolvimento sustentável. Este artigo apresenta o resultado de um estudo de caso que teve como objetivo identificar as práticas de sustentabilidade na gestão de escolas estaduais de Guarapuava, Paraná (PR). Os parâmetros basearam-se na Planilha-Modelo de Sustentabilidade Socioambiental – Agenda Ambiental na Administração Pública (A3P). A amostragem para a pesquisa, de natureza quanti-qualitativa, constituiu-se de 17 colégios públicos estaduais, localizados no município investigado. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de questionários e entrevistas semiestruturadas com os diretores das instituições. Os resultados indicam que os colégios executam boas práticas de sustentabilidade, alinhadas com os parâmetros da Planilha A3P, embora elas sejam pontuais e não contínuas.
