Resumo: Adverse reactions may be linked to the normal toxicity of the vaccine, occurring as part of the immune response. The general objective of this research was to analyze the main adverse reactions described in researched studies. These are rare, but due to the inconvenience and injuries caused, they are highly unwanted. This is an integrative review considering information in databases in literature searches regarding the investigation of risks associated with vaccination. Searches were carried out for scientific articles, searched on the internet through the following databases: Lilacs, Scielo and Medline/Pubmed. Total of articles found 356 with the descriptors immunization, vaccination, side effect and adverse reactions, after exhaustive reading of the articles and according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 08 articles were used according to the results. The most frequent adverse events, according to this research were: irritability, headache, tiredness, pain and redness at the application site, loss of appetite, drowsiness, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, swelling, malaise, low fever, hardening at the application site. Between 0.1% and 1% of those vaccinated report respiratory symptoms, rhinitis, dizziness, skin rash, muscle pain, muscle stiffness, decreased sensitivity, numbness, itching and chills. The results prove that the benefits of receiving the vaccine outweigh the risks, research shows that most adverse reactions reported were not serious. The main limitations of this study are due to the lack of published articles related to adverse reactions in all vaccines.

The results prove that the benefits of receiving the vaccine outweigh the risks, research shows that most adverse reactions reported were not serious. The main limitations of this study are due to the lack of published articles related to adverse reactions in all vaccines.
