Challenges (And Dilemmas) To Insert "Sustainability" In Management Curricula: A Case Study

Resumo: | This paper aims analyze the challenges faced by a Higher Education Institution in a insertion of the "Sustainability" as a subject, in the course of Business Administration. Despite nearly three decades of intense debate around the sustainability theme, remain a different kind of uncertainties on this subject, which raise questions about its boundaries, its defining traits, its innovation potential, its interdisciplinary compass and its ability to engage its interfaces with other fields of knowledge and practices. This is reflected in the strategies and practices for both of the business management scope, such as regarding the design and pedagogical practices of teaching and learning used to train future managers. Thus the construction of this paper is based on a literature and documentary research, also the experience of the authors as professors at the Business School of Administration selected by convenience. They organized all the data experience, the information and interviews compiled, through a case study in the context of mixed exploratory research. Different variables introduced the theme of sustainability were analyzed, involving the disciplines that attend to the educational project and its contents to the analysis of didactic and pedagogical strategies adopted. In this sense, the experience showed that remain discussed the challenges and requirements for implementation of educational projects that focus on new models of teaching and learning. It also shows that the university, especially business schools, is a prime location, which may contribute to development of practical, innovative attitudes and behaviors toward sustainability, in all the environments of the future manager could be involved. |

A pesar de casi tres décadas de intensos debates en torno de la temática sobre sustentabilidad, aún permanecen una serie de indefiniciones sobre este tema, lo que despierta indagaciones sobre sus limitaciones, los trazos que la definen, su potencial innovador y su interdisciplinaridad, en especial, lo que se refiere a la capacidad de diálogo entre las interfaces de éste tema con otros campos del conocimiento y de la práctica. Esto se refleja en las estrategias y prácticas tanto en el ámbito de la gestión empresarial, como en lo que corresponde al proyecto pedagógico y a las prácticas de enseñanza- aprendizaje utilizadas para la formación de futuros administradores. Ahora, la construcción de éste artículo tiene como base la investigación bibliográfica, documental y la propia vivencia de los autores como docentes en la facultad de Administración seleccionada por conveniencia. De modo que, se organizaron los datos de la experiencia, las informaciones y las entrevistas por medio de un estudio de caso dentro del contexto de investigación exploratoria. Diferentes variables para la inclusión de la temática de sustentabilidad fueron analizadas, involucrando desde las disciplinas que contemplan el proyecto pedagógico y sus contenidos hasta el análisis de las estrategias didáctico- pedagógicas adoptadas. En esta dirección, la experiencia analizada reveló que permanecen desafíos y exigencias en la implementación de proyectos pedagógicos que privilegien nuevos modelos de enseñanza- aprendizaje. También evidencia que la universidad, en especial las facultades de administración, son un local privilegiado, que puede contribuir para el desarrollo de prácticas, actitudes y comportamientos innovadores en dirección a la sustentabilidad, precisamente en todos los ambientes donde el futuro administrador pueda estar inserido.Este artigo pretende analisar os desafios (e dilemas) enfrentados por uma Instituição de Ensino Superior para inserção da disciplina “Sustentabilidade” no curso de Administração. Apesar de quase três décadas de intensos debates em torno da temática sustentabilidade, permanecem uma serie de indefinições sobre este tema, o que desperta indagações sobre suas delimitações, seus traços definidores, seu potencial de inovação, sua interdisciplinaridade e sua capacidade de diálogo de suas interfaces com outros campos de conhecimento e de prática. Isto se reflete nas estratégias e práticas tanto ao âmbito da gestão empresarial, como no que tange ao projeto pedagógico e às práticas de ensino-aprendizagem utilizadas para a formação de futuros administradores. Assim, a construção do artigo está baseada em pesquisa bibliográfica, documental, entrevistas e na vivência dos autores como docentes no curso de Administração selecionada por conveniência. Organizaram-se os dados e as informações da experiência, por meio de estudo de caso num contexto de pesquisa exploratória. Diferentes variáveis de inserção da temática de sustentabilidade foram analisadas, envolvendo desde as disciplinas que contemplam o projeto pedagógico e seus conteúdos até a análise das estratégias didático-pedagógicas adotadas. Nesta direção, a experiência analisada revelou que permanecem os desafios e exigências para implementação de projetos pedagógicos que privilegiem novos modelos de ensino-aprendizagem.
