Resumo: Over the past few years, corporate universities, as they are called, have become increasingly common among organizations in order to give a strategy dimension to training and development area. This article identified some characteristics of these universities in Brazilian organizations. A survey of the companies with corporate universities in Brazil is examining their profile, and identified their main characteristics. The methodology was based on bibliography research and a survey of seven companies that established their own corporate universities. On the basis of this empirical data it was showed the corporate universities profile in Brazil.

On the basis of this empirical data it was showed the corporate universities profile in Brazil.Nos últimos anos, o termo “universidade corporativa” tem se tornado comum entre as organizações como uma maneira de dar à área de treinamento e desenvolvimento uma dimensão estratégica. Este artigo identificou algumas características dessas universidades em empresas brasileiras. A partir de um levantamento das empresas com universidades corporativas no Brasil, foi analisado seu perfil e identificadas suas principais características. Isso se deu em duas etapas: na primeira, foi realizada a pesquisa bibliográfica; na segunda etapa do estudo, realizou-se uma pesquisa de campo em sete empresas que implantaram suas universidades corporativas.
