Resumo: The aim of this paper is to investigate the relationship between the Edenic perspective and the landscape conception of Brasilia as a modern city-park. First, it highlights the Edenic motive in the implantation of the capital from three visions: paradisiacal, infernal and patrimonial. Then, it highlights the relevance of the natural landscape in choosing the location of the Brazilian capital. It then examines the landscape design of the Pilot Plan from three perspectives: water, land and air. Finally, it emphasizes the role of Brasilia's urban scales as guidelines that safeguard the essential characteristics of the capital's landscape. The paper discusses landscapes and heritage in Latin America by pointing out aspects of the Edenic myth and the nature of the site incorporated into the Pilot Plan from the heart of the project and contributes to highlight the relevance of landscape analysis for territorial planning, urban development and heritage preservation.

Primero, destaca el motivo edénico en la implantación de la capital desde tres visiones: paradisíaca, infernal y patrimonial. Luego, destaca la relevancia del paisaje natural en la elección de la ubicación de la capital brasileña. Luego examina el diseño del paisaje del Plan Piloto desde tres perspectivas: agua, tierra y aire. Finalmente, enfatiza el papel de las escalas urbanas de Brasília como pautas que salvaguardan las características esenciales del paisaje de la capital. El documento analiza los paisajes y el patrimonio en América Latina señalando aspectos del mito edénico y la naturaleza del sitio que se incorporan al Plan piloto desde el corazón del proyecto y contribuye a resaltar la relevancia del análisis del paisaje para la planificación territorial, el desarrollo urbano y la preservación del patrimonio.O objetivo desse trabalho é investigar a relação entre a perspectiva edênica e a concepção paisagística de Brasília como cidade-parque moderna. Primeiramente, destaca o motivo edênico na implantação da capital a partir de três visões: paradisíaca, infernal e patrimonial. Na sequência, ressalta a relevância da paisagem natural na escolha do sítio de locação da capital brasileira. Posteriormente, examina a concepção paisagística do Plano Piloto sob três perspectivas: aquática, terrestre e aérea. Por fim, ressalva o papel das escalas urbanísticas de Brasília como diretrizes que resguardam as características essenciais da paisagem da capital.
