Resumo: Explores the librarians role as collective memory constructorsstarting from the Le Goff's book "History and Memory". It points out towards the construction of the collective memory desterritorialized and globalized as an important problem of the present society, taking into account the librarians and archivists insert themselves withdistincts degrees of autonomy in this processo Concludes that memory acts as a space that legitimates, updates and reorganizes the imaginaryof the society.

Aponta para a construção de uma memória coletiva desterritorializada e globalizada comouma das grandes questões da sociedade atual, entendendo que os bibliotecários se inserem com diferentes níveis de autonomia na construção desta memória.
