The present study sought to analyze the structure and content of the social rep­resentation (SR) of religiosity according to professors at a university center. This is a qualitative, descriptive research, using of theoretical framework of Serge Moscovici’s Social Representations, especially Jean-Claude Abric’s Central Nu­cleus Theory. Sixty-six teachers participated in the research, who filled out an online questionnaire with a free evocation test with the inducing term religiosity and sociodemographic characterization. The test data underwent prototypical analysis and the others underwent descriptive analysis. In the probable central nucleus of the RS of religiosity, the cognems God (cult object); Church (institu­tion of worship); and belief (cognition at the service of the cult). We believe that the results reflect a triad historically constituted and imbricated in the practical manifestation of religiosity, based on the elements that are connected – transcen­dence / institution / cognition – according to the participating teachers, reveal­ing a traditional representation of religiosity.
