Resumo: | This article seeks to discuss the role of symbolic play in children's cognitive/emotional development through the analysis of the character "Bing Bong", the imaginary friend of Riley, the protagonist in the animated film "Inside Out". The movie is analyzed through Vygostky's concepts of experience in art, superior psychological functions, imagination and creation. As a methodological strategy, this article used clippings from the movie, opting for clippings that contemplate the direct or indirect appearances of the analysed character. Such clippings point out to the essential nature of symbolic play in the development of cognitive-behavioral skills. It was possible to observe Riley's reframing processes and the role of Bing Bong in this journey, whose concept of experience applies in a convergent way with the other concepts worked on in the analysis. |

Anclado en la perspectiva histórico-cultural, el trabajo se analiza desde los conceptos de experiencia de Vygostky en el arte, funciones psicológicas superiores, imaginación y creación. Apuntando a los objetivos del artículo, la estrategia es usar recortes del trabajo, optando por recortes que contemplen la apariencia directa/indirecta del personaje. Tales recortes apuntan a la naturaleza esencial del juego simbólico en el desarrollo de habilidades cognitivo-conductuales. Fue posible observar los procesos de replanteamiento de Riley y el papel de Bing Bong en este viaje, cuyo concepto de experiencia se aplica de manera convergente con los otros conceptos trabajados en el análisis.O presente artigo busca discutir o papel da brincadeira simbólica no desenvolvimento cognitivo-emocional infantil através da análise do personagem “Bing Bong”, o amigo imaginário da protagonista Riley, no filme de animação “Divertida Mente”. Ancorada na perspectiva histórico-cultural, obra é analisada a partir dos conceitos de Vygostky de vivência na arte, funções psicológicas superiores, imaginação e criação. Visando os objetivos do artigo, têm-se como estratégia a utilização de recortes da obra, optando por recortes que contemplassem a aparição direta/indireta do personagem. Tais recortes apontam para a natureza essencial da brincadeira simbólica no desenvolvimento de habilidades cognitivo-comportamentais.
