Resumo: Anthropological film has often joggled in the borderline of two tendencies: exploitation of exoticism and ethnographic concern. Films like John Marshall’s The Hunters, or Robert Gardner’s Dead Birds are examples of how specificities of other cultures may be framed as the extraordinary, the unusual and be embedded in a scientific artifact. The aim of this text is to explore the ambiguous relationship anthropological documentary has entertained with the abnormal and the exotic, examining its ethical and esthetical issues.

The aim of this text is to explore the ambiguous relationship anthropological documentary has entertained with the abnormal and the exotic, examining its ethical and esthetical issues.O filme antropológico tem sido freqüentemente identificado com duas tendências do documentário: exploração do exotismo e preocupação etnográfica. Editora da PUCRS - ediPUCRS2008-04-13info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecos/article/view/334110.15448/1980-3729.2005.28.3341Revista FAMECOS; Vol. 12 No. 28 (2005); 107-114Revista FAMECOS; Vol. 12 Núm. 28 (2005); 107-114Revista FAMECOS; v. 12 n. 28 (2005); 107-1141980-37291415-054910.15448/1980-3729.2005.28reponame:Revista FAMECOS: Mídia cultura e tecnologiainstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)instacron:PUC_RSporhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecos/article/view/3341/2598Freire, Marciusinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2017-05-15T19:22:14Zoai:ojs.revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br:article/3341Revistahttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecosPRIhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecos/oai||revistafamecos@gmail.com1980-37291980-3729opendoar:2017-05-15T19:22:14Revista FAMECOS: Mídia cultura e tecnologia - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)false
