Resumo: This article proposes, from the position of the media companies in episodes resulting in the State’s coup overthrowing João Goulart of presidency of the Republic in 1964 and validation of the military regime whose validity was extended for 21 years, and retaking the majority position of newspapers in Empire of ratifiers in almost all of the existence of the Brazilian slave system, to conceptualise how the bush journalism the journalistic genre guarantor of the authoritarian period and distinctive dubiousness of the press on to represent themselves as a democratic stronghold of society, while played, actually, the assessor’s office, accomplice and publicist of an autocratic, repressive and segregationist government.
