Resumo: Brazil is an International Refugee Regime member, having incorporated the 1951 Convention related to Refugee Status into its Legal Order with the Act 9474/97. Additionally, it advances in humanitarian protection based on human rights to international environmentally Displaced Persons, to huge flux of refugees and to economic migrants (Migration Act n. 13.445.2017). This article evaluates the way how the regime stretching theory proposed by Betts (2010) may be used to explain how the International Refugee Regime is enlarged in local implementation level to be adjusted and to supply local needs, being hybridly implemented in Brazil, with different rules, norms, institutions, and public policies to different types of displaced people in Brazil.

Editora da PUCRS - ediPUCRS2021-11-03info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/fass/article/view/3777310.15448/1677-9509.2021.1.37773Textos & Contextos (Porto Alegre); Vol. 20 No. 1 (2021): Single Volume; e37773Textos & Contextos (Porto Alegre); v. 20 n. 1 (2021): Volume Único; e377731677-950910.15448/1677-9509.2021.1reponame:Textos & contextos (Porto Alegre)instname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUC RS)instacron:PUC_RSporhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/fass/article/view/37773/27161https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPacifico, Andrea PachecoSilva, Thalita Franciely de MeloKuhlmann, Paulo Roberto Loyolla2022-11-25T14:48:46Zoai:ojs.revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br:article/37773Revistahttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/fassPUBhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/fass/oaitextos@pucrs.br1677-95091677-9509opendoar:2022-11-25T14:48:46Textos & contextos (Porto Alegre) - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUC RS)false
