Resumo: Along their trajectories to consecrate themselves writers, authors embark on different artistic paths. Thereby, as their names become prominent in the media, their works begin to emerge from the last dusty shelves of small bookstores. However, here we are interested in presenting the work of Rodrigo Lacerda, a renowned and award-winning Brazilian literary writer, through his relation with the activities of translation and adaptation. The aim is to show the relation between Lacerda’s literary work and his translation and adaptation work of literature in English. Therefore, we propose to reflect on his ability with the translation and adaptation of novels such as Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1992), by Robert Louis Stevenson; Death Cloud (1993), by Arthur Conan Doyle; Expressionism (2002), by Shulamith Behr, from the series Movements in Modern Art; Poems (2006) by Raymond Carver; and Le petit Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (2015). Based on studies by Candido (2006), Kristeva (2005) and Perrone-Moisés (1998) in what concerns literary art, we shall demonstrate that the translator proposes to skillfully rescue the youthful reader who is not acquainted with the literary classics, especially by the publication of his novel Hamlet or Amleto?

Shakespeare para jovens curiosos e adultos preguiçosos (2015).Editora da PUCRS - ediPUCRS2019-06-26info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/letronica/article/view/3207610.15448/1984-4301.2019.1.32076Letrônica; Vol. 12 No. 1 (2019): Writers and Translators: Thoughts on Writing and Translating; e32076Letrônica; v. 12 n. 1 (2019): Escritores-Tradutores: reflexões sobre o escrever e o traduzir; e320761984-430110.15448/1984-4301.2019.1reponame:letrônicainstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)instacron:PUC_RSporhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/letronica/article/view/32076/17985Copyright (c) 2019 Letrônicainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDonadoni, Marcilene Moreira2019-10-15T21:32:48Zoai:ojs.revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br:article/32076Revistahttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/letronicaPRIhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/letronica/oailetronica@pucrs.br||ivanetemileski@gmail.com1984-43011984-4301opendoar:2019-10-15T21:32:48letrônica - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)false
