“Because of the pandemic”: Reconfiguration of work and educational projects of young people from horticultural families of General Pueyrredón (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

Resumo: The study of the vital itineraries of young people, those of work and education, contemplates not only past experiences but also their putting into play in pursuit of their life plans through intermediate and alternative projects. This work proposes to investigate the reconfiguration of youth projects from the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and its conditioning (or not) in their life plans. The case of young people from horticultural families in the green belt of General Pueyrredón is taken, retaking a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews carried out in 2021. As main findings, it is found that the intermediate projects were modified, but not their vital plans. In addition, the suspension of certain intermediate projects compared to the start-up of some alternatives that had been considered previously.

Este trabajo propone indagar la reconfiguración de los proyectos de jóvenes a partir del contexto de pandemia por Covid-19 y su condicionamiento (o no) en sus planes vitales. Se toma el caso de jóvenes de familias hortícolas del cinturón verde de General Pueyrredón, retomando un abordaje cualitativo a través de entrevistas en profundidad realizadas en 2021.Como principales hallazgos, se encuentra que los proyectos intermedios se vieron modifi cados, no así sus planes vitales. Además, se observa la suspensión de ciertos proyectos intermedios frente a la puesta en marcha de algunos alternativos que habían sido barajados con anterioridad.O estudo dos itinerários vitais dos jovens, em particular os do trabalho e da educação, contempla não só experiências passadas, mas também a sua concretização na prossecução dos seus planos de vida através de projetos intermédios e alternativos. Este trabalho se propõe a investigar a reconfiguração de projetos de juventude a partir do contexto da pandemia Covid-19 e seu condicionamento (ou não) em seus planos de vida. É tomado o caso de jovens de famílias horticultoras do cinturão verde de General Pueyrredón, retomando uma abordagem qualitativa por meio de entrevistas em profundidade realizadas em 2021. Como principais conclusões, verifica-se que os projetos intermediários foram modificados, mas não seus planos principais.
