Resumo: The article deals with the personal-professional experience during the realization of the Doctorate in Education at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) It aims to reflectively revisit the author’s trajectory from the experience lived during the period of 2006-2009 on the occasion of his doctorate. The methodology, based on narratives of life stories, seeks to reconstruct the memorials shared and discussed in the collective of the Postgraduate Program in Education. This construction takes place in dialogue with the literature of the professors of the aforementioned course. The results show the inseparability of personal-professional life, discourses and practices experienced by this academic community. They also show the legacy left by a training that integrates hard and soft skills delivering competent professionals for life in the solution of real problems, especially in the field of education. It concludes on the merit of the training received as a promoter of mobility and social transformation.

Pretende revisitar reflexivamente la trayectoria del autor a partir de la experiencia vivida en el período 2006-2009 con motivo de su doctorado. La metodología, basada en narrativas de historias de vida, busca reconstruir las memorias compartidas y discutidas en el colectivo del Programa de Doctorado en Educación. Esta construcción se da en diálogo con la literatura de los profesores del mencionado Doctorado. Los resultados muestran la inseparabilidad de la vida personal-profesional, los discursos y las prácticas vividas por esta comunidad académica. También muestran el legado que deja una formación que integra habilidades duras y blandas entregando profesionales competentes para la vida, en la solución de problemas reales, especialmente en el campo de la educación. Se concluye sobre los méritos de la formación recibida, favoreciendo la movilidad y la transformación social.O artigo trata da experiência pessoal-profissional durante a realização do Doutorado em Educação na Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Tem por objetivo revisitar, reflexivamente, a trajetória do autor a partir da experiência vivida no período 2006-2009 por ocasião de seu doutorado. A metodologia, baseada em narrativas de histórias de vida, procura reconstruir os memoriais partilhados e discutidos na coletividade do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação. Esta construção se dá em diálogo com a literatura dos próprios professores do referido curso. Os resultados evidenciam a inseparabilidade da vida pessoal-profissional, dos discursos e práticas vivenciados por esta comunidade acadêmica. Mostram, ainda, o legado deixado por uma formação que integra hard e soft skills entregando profissionais competentes para a vida, na solução de problemas reais, especialmente, no campo da educação.
