Resumo: | This article aims to discuss the thinking of the writer, educator and feminist activist bell hooks in her articulations with the field of education. More specifically, we focus on what we call the intellectual’s ethical-political project for education, with emphasis on the contributions of her thinking and works to the field of Education in Human Rights. The theoretical and conceptual debate was rescued from recent works by the author translated into Portuguese. Bell hooks’ theoretical and conceptual debate is organized as follows in the text:(a) contributions of feminist thought to an anti-racist and anti-sexist education;(b) education as a practice of freedom as a clue to the production of engaged pedagogies in multicultural classrooms; and (c) love as the founding ethos of a democratic community education and as a practice of freedom. The work of bell hooks points to the importance of education as a political act that reveals the ills and obstacles, henceforth the ideology of white supremacy, for a more just and democratic society. Therefore, it makes use of an intersectional analysis and a community practice of care and self-fulfillment in the field of education. |

Más específicamente, nos centramos en lo que llamamos el proyecto ético-político de la intelectual para la educación, con énfasis en los aportes de su pensamiento y obra al campo de la Educación en Derechos Humanos. El debate teórico y conceptual fue rescatado de obras recientes del autor traducidas al portugués. El debate teórico y conceptual de Bell Hooks se organiza en el texto de la siguiente manera:(a) aportes del pensamiento feminista a una educaciónantirracista y antisexista;(b) la educación como práctica de la libertad como clave para la producción depedagogías comprometidas en aulas multiculturales; y (c) el amor como ethos fundante de una educación comunitaria democrática y como práctica de la libertad. La obra de bell hooks apunta a la importancia de la educación como acto político que revela los males y obstáculos, en adelante la ideología de la supremacía blanca, para una sociedad más justa y democrática. Para ello, hace uso de un análisis interseccional y una práctica comunitaria de cuidado y autorrealización en el campo de la educación. O presente artigo tem como objetivo discutir o pensamento da escritora, educadora e ativista feminista bell hooks em suas articulações com o campo da educação. Mais especificamente, nos debruçamos sobre o que denominamos como projeto ético-político da intelectual para a educação, com ênfase nas contribuições de seu pensamento e obras para o campo da Educação em Direitos Humanos. Resgatou-se o debate teórico e conceitual a partir de recentes obras da autora traduzidas para a língua portuguesa. O debate teórico e conceitual de bell hooks está organizado da seguinte forma no texto: (a) contribuições do pensamento feminista para uma educação antirracista e antissexista; (b) a educação como prática de liberdade como pista para a produção de pedagogias engajadas em salas de aula multiculturais; e (c) o amor como ethos fundante de uma educação comunitária democrática e como prática de liberdade. A obra de bell hooks aponta para a importância da educação como ato político que desvele as mazelas e entraves, doravante a ideologia de supremacia branca, para uma sociedade mais justa e democrática.
