Resumo: This article aims to detect elements that help to understand Dom Casmurro from the approach of situations that will defer the Brazilian literary project in the second half of the 19th century. The environment limited to Rio de Janeiro, this work surpasses the description concerning a mimetic process of local feature to deepen the psychological aspect and the dramas of the human condition. In the face of this, we seek the same way to detect the relationship that extends from the local area and the family conflict to the universality of the relationships that relate to the Brazilian social crisis in the context of political transformations that have an affect on the passage between the nineteenth and XX centuries.

En el ambiente limitado a Río de Janeiro, esta obra supera la descripción referente a un proceso mimético de aspecto local para profundizar el aspecto psicológico y los dramas de la condición humana. Ante ello, buscamos de la misma manera detectar la relación que se amplía del ámbito local y del conflicto familiar hacia la universalidad de las relaciones que se refieren a la crisis social brasileña en el contexto de transformaciones políticas que tienen efecto en el paso entre los siglos XIX y XX.Este artigo tem por objetivo detectar elementos que ajudem a entender Dom Casmurro a partir da abordagem de situações que difiram da expectativa contida no projeto literário brasileiro da segunda metade do século XIX. No ambiente limitado ao Rio de Janeiro, essa obra supera a descrição referente a um processo mimético de feição local para aprofundar o aspecto psicológico e os dramas da condição humana.
