Resumo: The article examines how the concept of third-world and third world ideology are introduced and developed in Brazil. It demonstrates that the almost all of the social sciences and humanities are influenced by this sensibility of the third world, occupying a site of growing importance in the Brazilian intellectual field between the decades of the 1960s and 1980s. Finally, the work establishes the stages of this process, the most relevant authors and the more elaborate and original ideas.

Se constata que la casi totalidad de las ciencias sociales y las humanidades son influidas por esta sensibilidad tercermundista, ocupando un sitio de creciente importancia en el campo intelectual brasileño entre las décadas del sesenta y ochenta. Se distinguen las principales etapas de este proceso, los autores más relevantes y las ideas más originales y elaboradas.O artigo examina como os conceitos de terceiro mundo e ideologia terceiro-mundista foram introduzidos e desenvolvidos no Brasil. Demonstra-se que a quase totalidade das ciências sociais e humanas são influenciadas por esta sensibilidade terceiro-mundista, ocupando um lugar cada vez mais importante no campo intelectual brasileiro entre as décadas de 1960 e 1980.
