Resumo: This article addresses the career of emigrants from Brazil to Ireland with a focus on turning points (turnpoints) that involve both the decision to migrate and those experienced in the context of migration. It is understood that migration can occur, primarily, for a motivation related to a new start in life, which may or may not be directly related to the career. The study is qualitative in nature and aims to verify and analyze the turning points that make up the career of Brazilian and Brazilian immigrants who live and work in Dublin. As main results, the following stand out: a) the particularities of the immigrant's life crossed by social markers, mainly by gender, b) the relevance of the formation of networks among immigrant women; c) the precariousness and informality experienced by qualified professionals; d) the housing and rent crisis; e) new challenges imposed on immigrants by the global pandemic situation. The study contributes to the articulation of migration and career studies, highlighting the turning points, which involve restarts and returns, which are often compulsory, experienced by immigrants.
