Resumo: As a experience report, the text intends to echo the great relevance of the work of SOTER (Society of Theology and Study of Religion), which for 32 years has been reflecting on the most intriguing and necessary themes for the defense of life and the progress in the debates about the meaning of life, as well as the construction of space for dialogues and reflections on contemporary problems. The thirty-second international congress of this year 2019 was no different. Around the problematic of decoloniality as a search for emancipatory practices, the congressmen struggled to reflect, share and debate. With an admirable and intense program, the congress was held from July 9 to 12, hosted at PUC-Minas.
