Currie and the Literal Interpretation of Frege’s Thesis On the Causality of Thoughts

Resumo: It is clear that there must be some kind of relation between a thought (Gedanke) and subjectivity. Nevertheless, whence it does not follow that one must assign to thought some kind of causal efficiency (Wirksamkeit) over a subject. Therefore, I consider Currie’s interpretation of passages from “Der Gedanke” and “Logik” of 1897 wrong. In its place, I propose another kind of approach that consists in underlining the intentional character of Frege’s view of consciousness.

En consecuencia de lo anterior, considero errónea la interpretación ofrecida por Currie de ciertos pasajes de “Der Gedanke” y de la “Logik” de 1897.
