Resumo: | This research aimed at investigating and analyzing how much affection is necessary throughout the whole process of teaching-learning, and how it's absence is harmful and, many times, even traumatic to the learner. It presents concepts, theories and practices that justify the importance of an affectionate bond between teachers and students in order to have a really significant learning. This is so, because it shows that an affectionate environment raises interest, motivates and becomes pleasant to the educators, as well as to the learners, which makes teaching-learning easier and demystifies several educators' understanding that "taking care" takes place only outside school. The investigation was developed as a bibliographical and documental research supported in the theories created and confirmed by Henry Wallon, Jean Piaget, Miguel Arroyo, Bernard Charlot, Paulo Freire, among others. The final conclusions present and affirm the necessity for more concern with the affectionate and emotional side of teachers and students, so to have a lower level of school failure and a higher quality in the process of teaching-learning. Besides that, it was also possible to conclude that, with affection, the education of subjects as critical citizens improves, as well as the self-valorization of educators |

The final conclusions present and affirm the necessity for more concern with the affectionate and emotional side of teachers and students, so to have a lower level of school failure and a higher quality in the process of teaching-learning. Besides that, it was also possible to conclude that, with affection, the education of subjects as critical citizens improves, as well as the self-valorization of educatorsEsta pesquisa teve por objetivo investigar e analisar o quanto a afetividade é necessária durante todo o processo de ensino-aprendizagem e o quanto a sua ausência é prejudicial e por muitas vezes até mesmo traumática para o educando.
