Resumo: The work in question aims to analyze the issue compulsory insurance of motor vehicles of land - DPVAT in order to locate it in our tax law, identifying it as a tribute. This is still a type of insurance little studied in our country, which hinders its proper application and allows different interpretations and failures. The difficulty of viewing it as a tribute allows many absurdities and discrepancies, as well as its change as the statute of limitations and values of its collection and indemnity. The work begins with brief concepts of what is tax and insurance DPVAT and its application in tax incidence matrix rule, aims to elucidate the institute for better implementation
