In this paper will be is to analyze the purposes and relevant aspects of Special Civil Courts under the optic of the Due Process of Law. Instituted by Law No. 9.099/95 throughout the national territory, this procedural microsystem recommends jurisdictional assistance simply and quickly, in order to print to the civil process, greater effectiveness in the delivery of the judicial response to small conflicts. Firstly, it will be considered the historical aspects relating to the evolution of the access to justice in time and space, analyzing their importance and significance in the various periods of history. Subsequently, and succinctly, some features of the former Small Claims Special Courts (JEPECs) will be discussed, such as the predecessor of the Special State Courts, and the current Special Civil Courts (JECs), cumulatively with their respective Summary and Accelerated Summary procedures. Finally, the due process of law will be studied, as well as its possible distortions in Special Courts that contradict the main procedural guarantees issued by this principle, leaving the individual unattended of the necessary legal certainty deriving from the Democratic State of Law.
