Resumo: Mentoring within foster care is a strategy so that children and adolescents in foster care have the opportunity to build and enjoy a lasting and affective relationship with a person, couple or family of reference. The contribution of this type of relationship for children and adolescents is still little researched in Brazil. The main objective of this research is to understand how affection appears in these relationships. We will first understand how mentoring in foster care has been inserted in Brazilian society, over time, and then learn about the range of activities that are developed in the context of the relationship, where affective practices are identified and analyzed, under a constructionist perspective. The interviews with young adults who have participated in the Instituto Fazendo História (São Paulo) show us the diversity, both in affective practices and in the perspectives of this relationship. During the interviews, young adults were able to share singular versions of the experience and identify new meanings for the situations they experienced. We hope to contribute so that mentoring in foster care programs across the country can get to know aspects of this relationship that are still poorly understood, expanding the perception of the risks, limits, riches and possibilities of this opportunity to learn about affection that intends to offer

A contribuição desse tipo de relação para crianças e adolescentes ainda é pouco pesquisada no Brasil. O objetivo principal desta pesquisa é compreender como o afeto aparece nessas relações. Iremos primeiro compreender como o apadrinhamento afetivo vem se inserindo na sociedade brasileira, ao longo do tempo e, em seguida, conhecer a diversidade de atividades que são desenvolvidas no contexto do apadrinhamento afetivo, onde as práticas afetivas são identificadas e analisadas, sob uma perspectiva construcionista. As entrevistas com jovens que participaram do apadrinhamento afetivo do Instituto Fazendo História (São Paulo) nos apresentam a diversidade, tanto de práticas afetivas, quanto de perspectivas desta relação. No encontro com a pesquisadora, os jovens puderam compartilhar versões singulares sobre a experiência e identificar novos sentidos para as situações vividas.
