Canto dos malditos: uma análise sobre a influência da ditadura militar brasileira sobre as políticas públicas de saúde mental

This present study had the goal, through a descritive research and a bibliographical description based on articles, academic work, historical archive and artistic material, to understand in which ways the military dictatorship had an impact on the current mental health policies of this period. To this end, it was important to contextualize asylums as political control devices, through the guidence of some of it´s most important critics for the first chapter, in addition to the description of the so-called brazilian authoritarism, highlighted for the second chapter. Then, for Chapter 3 the industrial and violent management that defines a large part of the mental health policies of this period, something that´s also related to a militarized political and social context, of a persecution of, above all, moral character, in which "the other" - whether that person was considered crazy , politically persecuted, homosexual, drug user, promiscuous, among other categories. The fourth chapter discussed the psychiatric reform, and the power of the critical press and arts when it comes to the mobilization of the popultion about some of the horrors an crimes within Colony Hospitals, such as Barbacena. Redemocratization suggests a proposal for psychiatric reform of an anti-asylum nature, and during the second half of the 1980s and 1990s, with the implementation of SUS and laws guaranteeing the dignity of the individual undergoing treatment, CAPS emerges as revolutionary devices within mental healthcare. The counter-reform is mentioned as, especially since 2016, an important phenomenon to highlight, as well as the emergence of the so-called Therapeutic Communities, highly valued within the Bolsonaro government. The current moment is characterized by many challenges, but with an important policy of recovery and permanent fight against the setbacks in health practiced by former president Bolsonaro
