Resumo: The present work aims to broach the main aspects and fundamentals of the principle of the protector-receiver, in the context of the Brazilian environmental law, relating this principle to possible instrumentalizations in several systems of environmental services payments. On topics related to environmental services payments, there will be explained the characteristics and general requirements for the application of the many types of payments, as well as the main examples of success that can be mentioned , showing the great viability that these instruments allow in the pursuit of the necessary protection for the environment and ecosystems
