Resumo: This dissertation intends to address the concept of thought as presented in the work The life of the mind, by contemporary thinker Hannah Arendt. The author’s phenomenological perspective on human thought activity covers the author’s other works in line with the proposed research and study on human thought. The devaluation of philosophical themes and the frank decay of the subjects related to the life of thought reinforce the need for a new approach on the political importance of Philosophy and the problems addressed in this area of knowledge. Therefore, the justification of the urgency of thinking about one’s own thought is a reflection of the forgetfulness with which one is forced to face daily, in a world where it is already considered superfluous and irrelevant

A perspectiva fenomenológica da autora sobre a atividade humana do pensamento percorre as demais obras da autora em consonância com a proposta de investigação e estudo sobre o pensamento humano. A desvalorização dos temas filosóficos e a franca decadência dos assuntos relativos à vida do pensamento reforçam a necessidade de uma nova abordagem sobre a importância política da Filosofia e dos problemas abordados nesta área do conhecimento.
