Real Estate Registry, although it is a discipline required in courses of law in many countries, is in Brazil optional, even knowing that it plays an important role in economic growth, because it covers much more than the simple registral activity of real estate, reaching transactions backed by real guarantees. The legal certainty afforded to guarantees through Real Estate Registration will increase the circulation of wealth, which makes it especially important in the economic field. This study seeks a reflection on the role of the Real Estate Registration and especially of the extrajudicial rectification before the new possibilities and responsibilities assigned by the Law No. 10,931 / 2004, which amended Articles 212 and 213 of the Public Records Act (Law no. 6,015, of 31 December 1973). Based on works of jurists and authors who discuss the registral activity, this study intends to develop an analysis of the many issues that permeate the Real Estate Registry. Tracing a history of registral activity and passing through its guiding principles, we discusses the grinding area, the consent of stakeholders among other issues. Among findings, we verified that the rectification of extrajudicial area in the Real Estate Registry brings many benefits to stakeholders, to expedite the procedure and lower cost, which imposes liability to the official notary, the need for preparation of reports by legally qualified professionals and the indispensable presence of a lawyer to the correct unraveling of the action
