The September 11, 2001 attack created a global mobilization against terrorism, beginning the War on Terror led by the United States of America. This unprecedent event in history served as a pretext for the north american power to insert itself in Iraq from March 2003 until 2011, under the false premise that the country had nuclear weapons and provided shelter for terrorists. Behind this context, it is possible to see a range of political and economic interests in the invasion of Iraq, which are part of a transnational neoliberal logic driven by the United States and several international organizations. Internally, the north american Military-Industrial Complex (MIC) reinvented itself and expanded with the use of Private Military Companies (PMC) on the battlefields, making ir possible to identify a relation between the segment’s economic growth and the period from 2003 to 2011. Internationally, Iraq was subjected to political-economic changes, which aimed mainly to open its market and insert the country into the global capitalist structure. Therefore, this work aims to analyze the american neoliberal logic present in the invasion of Iraq, from the interests of the Military-Industrial Complex and Private Military Companies to the reforms carried out by the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA)
