The approximation between art and life allows a change in the way we look at the world, a one which favors intuitive and emotional dimensions, besides literal and impersonal ideas. Art eliminates obstacles, favoring the individual to resume contact with the numinous, so that he may go, on an idealistic basis, beyond that which is merely given. Karin Lambrecht represents, in Brazilian Contemporary Art, a tradition founded by Kandinsky and enriched by Beuys, revealing relations between Art and Religiosity, and, therefore, between art and politics, considering that religion, as an institutionalized form of expression of religiosity, anchored upon rites, myths and dogmas, exerts a role in the formation of communities and in the maintenance of social cohesion, mixing itself, often, with the very political and social structures of a group or nation. More than the last haven of utopia, art presents itself as a path capable of leading man to self-knowledge and self-improvement, necessary for the improvement of society and its sought emancipation.
