This study proposes to make a documentary review of the bibliographical and to verify the scientific articles that indicate how the educational audiologist under the historical - cultural perspective acts and understands in the learning process of reading and writing. More recently, the relationship between Speech and Hearing Therapy and Education has been the subject of reflections that address the different understandings about the subject, based on speech and language intervention in the school, varying the objectives and actions in the educational context. Assisting in public and private networks in all modalities and levels of education. In this work, we chose to prioritize speech-language pathologists who develop their actions in education, from the historical-cultural perspective that considers language as a social discursive practice that constitutes and is permeated by the individual. We observed through the articles that the extended health proposal brings a comprehensive vision beyond fragmentation, seeking the participation and autonomy of the individual in his process of learning to read and write in different spaces. We conclude the importance of making increasingly more partnerships between educators and speech therapists who share this type of approach, so that the different processes of learning to read and write can be looked at in a singular way.
