O líquido e o simbólico na violência entre pares

Resumo: Working with children today presupposes an understanding of how this public manifests itself in the virtual means of communication. The dilemmas of today's societies regarding the advantages and risks of technological advance are an urgent matter in the times in which we live nowadays. Internet access is becoming easier and despite many advantages, some transformations in the way of interpersonal relationship, resulting from this evolution, brings risks that are unprecedented, as well as the constant technological novelties. It is notorious that the possibilities of manifestations of violence and intolerance in our society are increasing, and the violence practiced by children and young people in the network is increasing too. From this, the present work aimed to understand and analyze the phenomenon of violence between peers or Bullying, in its face-to-face form, but especially in relation to the virtual modes of interaction, now widely accessible through social networks. This research aimed to investigate the consequences on the personal formation of school children and young people, who act directly or indirectly, in situations of violence between their peers, personally or virtually, as well as to understand what reveals this phenomenon on contemporary societies. To that end, as a theoretical reference, it was used the theory of the New Sociology of Childhood, which highlights the role of children, as social actors, full of rights and powerful producers of culture, from the interaction with the cultural symbols of their environment. Also, as a theoretical basis for this work, in the investigation of what such manifestations reveal about present societies, an analysis of Zygmund Bauman's conceptualization of liquid society was made, as well as an analysis of the theory of symbolic domination, by Pierre Bourdieu. From Zygmund Bauman and Pierre Bourdieu’s theories, the symbolic violence, manifested in the present times, may be considered as the consequence of an insecure and unstable society, with no conditions to think and act in a collective and transformative manner. In addition, a survey of data on peer violence, in several countries, has provided concrete data on the worldwide phenomenon. From the above explanation, it was intended to investigate if it is possible to affirm that the virtual relations established by children support the liquid and symbolically violent formatting in this society. The methodology used was a qualitative research and an exploratory study, based on bibliographical, documentary and electronic sources

Os dilemas das sociedades atuais frente às vantagens e riscos do avanço tecnológico constituem uma questão urgente do momento que vivemos. O acesso à Internet é cada vez mais facilitado e apesar de inúmeras vantagens, algumas transformações no modo de relacionamento interpessoal advindas desta evolução traz riscos que são, assim como as constantes novidades tecnológicas, inéditos. É notório o avanço das possibilidades de manifestações de violência e intolerância em nossa sociedade e é crescente a violência praticada por crianças e jovens na rede. A partir disto, o presente trabalho visou compreender e analisar o fenômeno da violência entre pares ou Bullying, em sua forma presencial, mas, especialmente, em relação aos modos virtuais de interação hoje largamente acessíveis por meio das redes sociais. A pesquisa pretendeu investigar quais são as consequências na formação pessoal das crianças e jovens em idade escolar que atuam direta ou indiretamente em situações de violência entre seus pares, presencial ou virtualmente, assim como pretende compreender o que revela tal fenômeno sobre as atuais sociedades contemporâneas. Para tanto, como referencial teórico foi utilizada a teoria da Nova Sociologia da Infância, que destaca o papel das crianças enquanto atores sociais plenos de direito e potentes produtores de cultura a partir da interação com os símbolos culturais de seu meio. Também, como base teórica para este trabalho, na investigação do que tais manifestações revelam sobre as sociedades atuais, fez-se uma análise da conceituação de sociedade líquida, de Zygund Bauman, assim como uma análise da teoria de dominação simbólica, de Pierre Bourdieu. A partir das teorias de Zygmund Bauman e Pierre Bourdieu, a violência simbólica manifestada nos tempos atuais pode ser considerada como consequência de uma sociedade insegura, instável, sem condições de pensar e agir de modo coletivo e transformador. Ainda, um levantamento de estudos acerca de dados sobre violência entre pares em diversos países trouxe dados concretos acerca no fenômeno no mundo. A partir do exposto, pretendeu-se investigar se é possível afirmar que as relações virtuais estabelecidas por crianças sustentam a formatação líquida e simbolicamente violenta desta sociedade.
