Resumo: | Populations born and living in coastal regions, specifically in the southeastern coast of Brazil, are called caiçaras. They present linguistic and cultural typicality that manifests itself, among other domains, in speech, dance, handicraft, music and cooking. This paper aims to investigate the impressions of a group of listeners, the research judges, based on the characteristics of the caiçara speech accent by means of the application of a semantic differential questionnaire, which contains descriptors referring to psychological, social and cultural physical and economic attributes. It is, therefore, a sociophonetic perceptive study that comprises a production task and a perception task. The research corpus is composed of semi-spontaneous speech recordings of subjects from the caiçara community. The subjects of the speech production task are 11 men and 11 women between 41 and 91 years old, residents of the North Coast of São Paulo State. The subjects of the perception task, referred to as judges, are 90 adults of both sexes, originary from the states of São Paulo (North Coast and capital) and Rio de Janeiro. A sociolinguistic profile of the subjects of the production task was performed. For the application to the judges of the perception task, which comprised the semantic differential questionnaire, a script was used and as a statistical method of investigation the multidimensional analysis was applied. From the results obtained from the analysis of 1980 responses to the semantic differential questionnaire applied, we have identified attitudes towards the speech variety of the caiçara community of the North Coast of São Paulo. The speech of the caiçara community was considered unpleasant by the judges of all places and caused no strangeness or misunderstanding. Therefore, the caiçara speech was judged as unpleasant, very understandable and very common. The results of the application of the multidimensional analysis test, considering the significant variables with a correlation percentage above 80%, showed that the caiçaras speakers were judged based on the perception of their speech, as people who perform manual work, have a bad financial situation, are unsuccessful, naive, simple and humble |

Apresentam tipicidade linguística e cultural que se manifesta, entre outros domínios, na fala, na dança, no artesanato, na música e na culinária. Este trabalho tem como objetivo investigar as impressões, causadas pelo falar de sujeitos de comunidade caiçara, em grupos de ouvintes de localidades diversas, por meio da aplicação de um questionário de diferencial semântico, o qual contém descritores referentes a atributos psicológicos, sociais, culturais, físicos e econômicos. Trata-se, portanto, de uma pesquisa de natureza sociofonética perceptiva que compreende uma tarefa de produção e uma de percepção. O corpus da pesquisa compreende gravações de fala semi-espontânea de sujeitos da comunidade caiçara. Os sujeitos da tarefa de produção da fala são 11 homens e 11 mulheres entre 41 e 91 anos, moradores do Litoral Norte do Estado de São Paulo. Os sujeitos da tarefa de percepção, referidos como juízes, são 90 adultos de ambos os sexos, oriundos dos estados de São Paulo (Litoral Norte e capital) e do Rio de Janeiro. Foi realizado um perfil sociolinguístico dos sujeitos da tarefa de produção. Para a aplicação, aos juízes, da tarefa de percepção, que compreendia o questionário de diferencial semântico, foi utilizado um script e como método estatístico de investigação foi utilizada a análise multidimensional. A partir dos resultados obtidos na análise de 1980 respostas ao questionário de diferencial semântico aplicado, identificamos atitudes em relação à variedade de fala de comunidade caiçara do Litoral Norte de São Paulo. A fala da comunidade caiçara foi considerada pouco agradável pelos juízes de todas as localidades consideradas e não causou nenhuma estranheza ou incompreensão. Portanto, a fala caiçara foi julgada como pouco agradável, muito compreensível e muito comum. Os resultados da aplicação do teste de análise multidimensional, consideradas as variáveis significativas e com porcentagem de correlação acima de 80%, evidenciaram que os falantes caiçaras foram julgados, a partir da percepção de sua fala, como pessoas que exercem trabalhos manuais, apresentam situação financeira baixa, são mal sucedidos, ingênuos, simplórios e humildesCoordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfhttp://tede2.pucsp.br/tede/retrieve/53720/Marta%20Aparecida%20de%20Faria%20Tanuri%20Oliveira.pdf.jpgporPontifícia Universidade Católica de São PauloPrograma de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Linguística Aplicada e Estudos da LinguagemPUC-SPBrasilFaculdade de Filosofia, Comunicação, Letras e ArtesLinguagem e línguas - VariaçãoLíngua portuguesa - Regionalismos - São Paulo (estado)SotaqueLanguage and languages - VariationPortuguese language - Provincialisms - São Paulo (Brazil)AccentCNPQ::LINGUISTICA, LETRAS E ARTES::LINGUISTICAA percepção de atitudes em relação ao sotaque de comunidade caiçara do Litoral Norte de São Pauloinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações da PUC_SPinstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPTEXTMarta Aparecida de Faria Tanuri Oliveira.pdf.txtMarta Aparecida de Faria Tanuri Oliveira.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain348942https://repositorio.pucsp.br/xmlui/bitstream/handle/23643/4/Marta%20Aparecida%20de%20Faria%20Tanuri%20Oliveira.pdf.txtc4c7ad15513788dc34e94e03cc78d628MD54LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
