The interest in pursuing the study of dyslexia came through my experience as a student, who for years suffered with school failure, accompanied by the lack of preparation of teachers and coordinators. The objective is to contribute to these professionals in order to provide tools and knowledge on the subject, to be able to understand the needs that some students have during their development. It is a literature that highlights the importance of understanding dyslexia of all professionals involved in the educational field as a difficulty in acquiring reading and writing process. The same is structured in five parts, the first part deals with the definition of TEA- Specific Learning Disorder, the second part highlighted historical survey of dyslexia, beyond the current definition and comorbidities, the third describe the structure of the brain and the difference between proficient readers and dyslexic readers. The quarte part explains how the diagnosis is made and the fifth part highlights the importance of school and the teacher during the treatment of dyslexic students. This study served to me, as a professional, has a different look during the observation of guiding students in their needs and encouraging their abilities
