Resumo: | This paper aims to show teachers the importance of educating students about the importance of the learning offered before beginning the content in the school year. Learning why and what for to learn expands the vision of the learner and makes them more flexible to accept the teachers’ teaching in relation to the content of the lessons. Thus, in this research, some of the paths that show what the vision of the student in relation to the English is are presented, some awareness activities that were presented by the students and the extent to which this paper has influenced in the change of learners’ vision. The research was carried out with 30 students enrolled in elementary school II and ten teachers of other subjects, at a state public school located in the outskirts of Guarulhos, São Paulo. The data collected were provided by questionnaires from March to September 2017. The methodology used is a qualitative case study that aims to detect opinions through informal conversations and questionnaires. The theoretical framework that constitutes the present study supports the official documents: CPN-LE (Brazil, 1998), BNCC (2017) and Curricular Proposal of the state of São Paulo (2208), in addition to the authors: Abreu J (2205); Bzuneck(2001 and 2009); Celani (2009) and Carl Rogers (1951 and 1969); Gimenez (2007 and 2001); Indonesië (2007); Trajan (2005); Libâneo (1994). The results of this study has shown that the majority of students are motivated to learn and want to speak English. They have also shown that teachers are willing to work this awareness before the learning actually occurs. And that there is the possibility for deepening into the theme of this paper, presenting other activities which also rise such vision of awareness of the importance of English |
