A relação da escola com a sociedade: manifestações de professores sobre ações de educação social

The current research problematises the relationship between school and its social environment, searching to understand the possible relations with social education institutions or socio-educative education. It analyzes, mainly, if and how school has been related to other institutions. It has been chosen for this analysis four dimensions, as: teaching training; proximity between school and other institutions; Acquired knowledges use during the contact with the other educative institutions; and the school contact with the other educative institutions. The main used concept was the one about school relocation, presented by Rui Cenário. Other writers were mobilized in order to understand the school course and its current changes, such as Willard Waller, David Hamilton, Mariano Fernandez Enguita, Antônio Cândido, and, for conceptualization of Social Pedagogy, writers such as Rui Batista, Isabel Carvalho, Geraldo Caliman, Josué de Oliveira Carvalho, Evelcy Monteiro Machado. Raised hypotheses: a) theses questions are absent from the teacher training; b) teachers do not worry about searching information about the environment, not recognizing the educative work that other institutions make; and c) because of that, they do not use knowledges from this nature in their work, keeping the relationship with the environment away. Empirical research was made by collecting pieces of information at four public elementary schools from the city of São Paulo, got through documents, through questionnaire to characterize teachers and through a scale questionnaire, which enables to get opinions trends of 20 (twenty) teachers. The results showed the isolation of school; teachers realize students participation in other institutions from their manifestations. Although the school suffers external interventions, they do not carry directly in school activities. This way, school does not seem to create conditions to relocate itself, although provided in documentation
