Reflections about of the psychosocial impacts of the institutionalization of the elderly persons in Brazil

Resumo: Systematic review of the literature that sought to discuss the psychosocial impacts of the institutionalization of the elderly in Brazil. After the definition of inclusion and exclusion criteria, were selected twenty seven articles. Through the survey, 27 articles were selected. It was observed that psychosocial impacts are related to exclusion, psychic suffering, lack of autonomy and future plans, feelings of abandonment, pathologies, sleep disturbances and use of psychoactive drugs. Thus, it is necessary to produce studies, aiming to promote the health and quality of life of institutionalized elderly.

Después de la definición de los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se seleccionaron veintisiete artículos.Se observó que los impactos psicosociales están relacionados con la exclusión, los trastornos psicológicos, la falta de autonomía y futuros planes, sentimientos de abandono, las enfermedades, los trastornos del sueño y el uso de medicamentos psico-farmacos. Por lo tanto, si se hace necesaria la producción de más estudios para promover la salud y la calidad de vida de los ancianos institucionalizados. Revisão sistemática da literatura que discute os impactos psicossociais da institucionalização de idosos no Brasil. Após a definição de critérios de inclusão e exclusão, vinte e sete artigos foram selecionados. Observou-se que os impactos psicossociais estão relacionados à exclusão, ao sofrimento psíquico, à falta de autonomia e de planos futuros, aos sentimentos de abandono, patologias, distúrbios do sono e uso de psicofármacos.
