Resumo: This article reflects on long-term transformations in regimes of visibility in the West and the growing need for the individual to be recognized in the context of social media. It is argued that the challenges faced by people who seek to be visible and recognized on social media platforms renew dilemmas that constitute modern subjectivity, as well as introduce new elements linked to the process of datafication and deepening of neoliberalism in social relations. This article proposes to shed light on recent transformations in these regimes, analyzing, among other references, manuals for behavior and sentiment regulation published over the last few centuries, along with contemporary courses for digital influencers seeking to gain prominence in social media.

PEPG COS-PUC-SP2023-11-15info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/galaxia/article/view/62494Galaxia; Vol. 48 No. 1 (2023): GaláxiaGALÁxIA.
