Aesthetics of identities: : about the politics around representations in the digital age

Resumo: This work aims to understand the Brazilian identity politics that emerge from an incessant media game, in which sociopolitical causes are fused with aesthetic options offered by the talking faces of influencers and design elements on social media platforms. With that, politics merges with aesthetics, transforming the way citizenship education is guided, especially among young people and adolescents. Starting from classic discussions around identities and aesthetics understood as political potential, we will observe how these phenomena appear in the digital world. To do so, we use as a case study two examples related to the LGBTQIA+ Community in Brazil. As a result, we observed that the aestheticization of identities, despite being a contemporary phenomenon typical of the visuality of the analyzed digital environments, can also claim spaces of power in which the image plays a significant role.

As a result, we observed that the aestheticization of identities, despite being a contemporary phenomenon typical of the visuality of the analyzed digital environments, can also claim spaces of power in which the image plays a significant role.Este texto tem como intuito compreender as políticas de identidade brasileiras que emergem de um incessante jogo midiático, em que causas sociopolíticas são fundidas com opções estéticas oferecidas por rostos falantes de influenciadores e elementos de design em plataformas de mídias sociais. Com isso, a política se funde com a estética, transformando a maneira como se orienta a formação cidadã, principalmente entre jovens e adolescentes. Partindo de discussões clássicas em torno das identidades e da estética entendida como potencial político, observaremos como esses fenômenos aparecem no digital. Para tanto, utilizamos como estudo de caso dois exemplos relacionados à comunidade LGBTQIA+ no Brasil: Rita Von Hunty e Erika Hilton.
