Resumo: Objective: To understand how the prosumption of photovoltaic energy impacts other consumer practices. Method: The empirical research was conducted through in-depth interviews with 24 consumers. The data collected were analyzed using Content Analysis. Originality/Relevance: The article brings to debate the articulation between the prosumption of photovoltaic energy and its insertions in the complexes of domestic practices. Results: The research findings suggest that upon the introduction of a new practice, promoted by the prosumption of photovoltaic energy, sociotechnical systems reconfigure to accommodate this newly incorporated practice. Theoretical/methodological contributions: The process of adopting prosumption practice is a trajectory that depends on engagement in meanings, understandings, procedures, which occurs prior to the incorporation of materials. The connection between these elements forms the structure of prosumption practice, which in turn integrates with other practices and reconfigures the socio-technical system of which it becomes a part.
