This study combines the extended unified theory of acceptance, and use of technology (UTAUT2) (Venkatesh, Thong, & Xu, 2012), Schwartz’s basic human values theory (Schwartz, 1992) and ICT skills to: (1) understand which factors influence ICT acceptance among individuals; (2) explore the role of basic values on ICT acceptance; and, (3) examine how these factors explain the digital divide. The research model was tested in the context of a sub-Saharan country. Empirical results suggest that ICT use is mainly influenced by behavioral intention, habit, and ICT skills. Hedonism, achievement, benevolence, and universalism were the most significant values.Oliveira, Tiago André Gonçalves Félix deJesus, Frederico Miguel Campos Cruz Ribeiro deRUNGonçalves, Glória Eduara Moura2019-12-15T01:30:38Z2016-12-152016-12-15T00:00:00Zinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisapplication/pdfhttp://hdl.handle.net/10362/19900TID:201433761enginfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos)instname:Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãoinstacron:RCAAP2024-03-11T04:02:30Zoai:run.unl.pt:10362/19900Portal AgregadorONGhttps://www.rcaap.pt/oai/openaireopendoar:71602024-03-20T03:25:47.168652Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos) - Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãofalse
