Proposals: building the «we» of the common home

Resumo: «To protect the world around us and within us is to take care of ourselves. But we need to constitute a ‘we’ that inhabits the common house.» (FT 17). Pope Francis’ insistence on the constitution of a “we” that inhabits the common house questions the conditions of possibility of this consideration of a common dwelling and habitat. Living in common invites us to specify both the renewed perception of an experience of “not being detached” from a relational life where all the elements of the created contribute to this network of vital interdependencies. But also to value this envelopment in a world of which we are a stakeholder, charged with a role at the service of all: to become a host in both senses of the word, to be received and to receive.

L’insistance du pape François sur la constitution d’un « nous » qui habite la maison commune interroge les conditions de possibilité de cette prise en compte d’un habiter et d’un habitat commun. Habiter en commun invite à préciser à la fois la perception renouvelée d’une expérience de ne « pas être détaché » d’une vie relationnelle où tous les éléments du créé contribuent à ce réseau d’interdépendances vitales. Mais aussi à valoriser cet enveloppement dans un monde dont nous sommes partie prenante, chargés d’un rôle au service de tous : devenir hôte aux deux sens du termes, être reçu et recevoir.«Proteger o mundo que nos cerca e nos contém é cuidar de nós mesmos. Mas devemos constituir um “nós” que habita a casa comum» (FT 17). A insistência do Papa Francisco na constituição de um «nós» que habita a casa comum questiona as condições de possibilidade dessa consideração de uma habitação e um habitat comuns.
