Em um primeiro momento, analisa a figura do estrangeiro, tomando como plano de fundo a História e partindo da ideia de que seus eventos interferem na maneira como o estrangeiro era (é) enxergado e protegido. Esse panorama parte da antiguidade chegando até a pós-modernidade, verificando o contexto do nascimento do Direito Internacional da Migração e, principalmente, seu estabelecimento no contexto de fragmentação do Direito Internacional atual. Partindo disso, no segundo capítulo, este escrito trata do debate acerca da autonomia do Direito Internacional da Migração. Por fim, no terceiro capítulo, ao entender pela sua não autonomia, busca-se perceber o que isso significa aos direitos dos Migrantes. Nesse sentido, propugna uma perspectiva plural e humanística do Direito Internacional da Migração, por meio de noções como a de cidadania global kantiana, hospitalidade universal e glocalidade, de forma a construí-lo em uma relação simbiótica com os Direitos Humanos. A presente dissertação traz alguns apontamentos epistemológicos acerca do Direito Internacional da Migração.
